Apprentice Forklift Technician / Mechanic

Job Description:

Diversified Fleet Management, Inc ("DFM") is seeking an Apprentice Forklift Technician to join our growing team. As an Apprentice Forklift Technician, you will be primarily be traveling to customer locations to maintain, service and repair customer fleets, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and other material handling equipment.

The individual in this position should have strong mechanical skills and love solving problems. You also need to be personable, reliable, intelligent, ethical, and eager to learn and adapt as your skill set grows.

We are looking for someone who is seeking to learn from some of the best Forklift Technicians in the industry and grow themselves within the company.

Location Requirements:

Must live in our service area, as you will be required to travel daily from home to customer locations throughout the Northwest Suburbs and Southeast Wisconsin. Your company provided vehicle goes home with you.

Job Responsibilities:

• On-Site Field Maintenance: Perform planned maintenance, inspections, and repairs on forklifts, scissor lifts and other heavy-duty material handling equipment.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.
• Parts Replacement: Identify, order, and replace faulty components or parts, ensuring the use of high-quality, appropriate replacements.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance and repairs, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service history, both digitally and on paper.
• Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, addressing their concerns and providing excellent customer service, representing Diversified Fleet Management positively.
• Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to the Technician Manager on completed tasks, ongoing projects, and any potential issues.

Job Requirements:

• Strong mechanical skills
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills
• Strong desire to be trained, learn, grow, and advance as a technician
• Proficient in English
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to interact with customers in the field and be a good representative of the company
• The ability to manage time and attendance. We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can work with minimal supervision.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a good driving record
• Physical stamina and strength to perform physical tasks and lift heavy equipment

Pay & Benefits:

• Base pay range $20.00 - $25.00, based on aptitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
