SalaryReitle: Repair Technician I & Construction Assistant
Position Description: Technician performs a variety of commercial building and facility maintenance and repair tasks. Technician works under direction of senior technician during training period until familiar with facilities and customers and becomes proficient in the services we provide our customers. Work sites are located from Paso Robles to Lompoc with majority being in San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria area.
Compensation: Starting pay is $25 to $28 per hour depending on experience and skill level. Employee is expected to pick up skills quickly and level of pay reviewed at 6 month mark. Paid vacation, sick time, 7 paid holidays and health insurance provided.
Requirements/beneficial traits:
The ideal candidate does not require any specific trade experience but must have good mechanical skills and desire to learn a wide range of new skills.
Positive, can do attitude.
Ability to work cooperatively with others .
Relatively clean driving record - No DUI’s.
Enjoy the challenge of joining in to get the difficult as well as easy tasks completed.
Own basic maintenance and repair hand tools.
Physically fit and able to handle strenuous tasks.
Transportation: Applicant must own work truck capable of traveling from site to site reliably. Mileage reimbursed at $ .56 per mile. Company truck may be provided after a period of time.
Working Environment:
Work Hours: Generally 40 hours per week with occasional evening or weekend work when job requires it. Typically weekend work only occurs a few days a month or less. Overtime paid at time and a half rate.
Work tasks are typically 50-60% facility repair and maintenance (not janitorial) and 40 - 50% construction. We respond to a variety of electrical, plumbing, painting, furniture moving , etc.
