Applications Integration Specialist - ATLAS

Job Summary
The Application Integration Specialist as a member of the ATLAS Application Development team, will collaborate and communicate with College of Liberal Arts & Sciences faculty and staff to facilitate integration of applications to meet the strategic vision and operational needs of the College. This includes gathering requirements, recommending changes, application demonstrations and ongoing end-user support.Duties & Responsibilities
Application Development
  • Critically evaluate and document information gathered, reconcile conflicts, decompose high -level information into details and abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding; evaluate existing applications, reports, and processes used by LAS users and propose new systems or changes to better meet college and unit needs.
  • Collaborate with ATLAS technical teams on third-party database application integration including assisting with end user training.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of user needs; employ business process improvement techniques to streamline processes; facilitating project team meetings; communicate progress standards.
  • Collaborate with developers to reach agreed balance between usability performance needs.
  • Ensure adherence to project quality standards by reviewing project deliverables; perform testing.
  • Lead coordination of and provide assistance for ATLAS supported applications; document and communicate issues that arise after deployment to the appropriate development staff for resolution.
  • Critically evaluate and propose appropriate security levels for ATLAS-supported applications that meet University standards and user needs; maintain existing and new security systems for supported applications.
  • Lead a team of student interns working with Business Process Improvement and other projects.

Customer Service
  • Assist users with transitioning from maintenance of work plans, schedules, and project status reports.
  • Create, maintain, and present detailed instructions, including presenting to senior staff, stakeholders, and new users for new and existing applications.
  • Gain user acceptance of interface designs; and develop into technical specifications for programmers.
  • Lead users through the evaluation and acceptance process, including beta testing for application deployment.

Other duties to further the mission of the unit.
Required Qualifications
1)High school diploma or equivalent.
2)Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
a) College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
b) Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Two years of progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession and one year experience with user support, programming, or application interface design, experience in software development or software application user support.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience working in higher education.

  • Knowledge of software development processes. Understanding of user interface design.
  • Understanding of project management methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date. The target salary for this position is $55,000. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
