About the Role:

Interacts with team and customers to ensure vendor applications meet customer needs. This includes application support to not only deploy and maintain applications but to provide continued support of business/payments systems from a technical perspective. Application engineer serves as the technical owner of assigned applications and partners with the business unit to ensure optimal performance. Serves as a key technical resource for business unit and ensures technical needs are met.

+ Implement business applications based on technical requirements supplied by the vendor (or development organization) to meet the business needs for system resiliency and availability following release and deploy standards.

+ Perform level two and level three support and troubleshooting when needed, including participating in on-call rotation for critical systems support after-hours.

+ Coordinate with vendor and other TAG teams when elevated support is needed.

+ Develop, test, and implement batch system integrations using scripting tools.

+ Develop and maintain documentation on solution designs/system topologies, issue resolutions, and routine and special procedures.

+ Responsible for updating tickets in service management system and tracking time required for IT services management.

+ Responsible for updating tickets in service management system and tracking time required for IT services management.

+ Responsible for collaborating with TAG associates to resolve complex issues.

+ Serves as a subject matter expert for the application and represents the needs of the business unit on technical issues.

+ Actively pursues additional training to stay current and up to date with technology trends.

+ Serves as a backup for other applications supported by the team. Works to stay current on all applications supported by the team.

About You

+ Associate, vocational, or technical degree related to information technology or related field equivalent experience.

+ Bachelor's Degree related to information technology.

+ 2-4 years of experience in Applications Engineering.

+ Extensive knowledge of Item processing principles and demonstrated understanding of check clearing in a banking environment.

+ Knowledge of, and experience working with X9.37 check image files.

+ Experience working with FIS ImageCentre highly desired.

+ Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with limited direct supervision.

+ Ability to effectively communicate and bring consensus with highly technical and non-technical stakeholders.

+ Strong attention to detail and good troubleshooting skills.

+ Experience configuring hardware and software.

+ Strong understanding of Windows infrastructure and networking concepts.

+ Knowledge of Active Directory authentication.

+ Knowledgeable in t-SQL, PowerShell, Python, and/or other scripting languages.

Work Style:

Umpqua Bank offers a Flexible Workplace Program, and this opportunity comes with the Full Office work style which is working in office from a designated company location five days weekly.

We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $58,452.00 to $108,554.00 and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
