This is a remote position.

Position Title:Senior Applications Engineer

$86,250 to $143,750 annually DOE

Job Summary:
The Senior Applications Engineer is responsible for maintaining multiple applications specific to BSS,
OSS, CRM and Customer facing systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range of duties performed by the employee
and not intended to reflect all duties performed.

  • Independently install, customize, and integrate both Linux and Windows servers in an enterprise
    environment.
  • Create and maintain server monitoring and alerts.
  • Collaborate with team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and
    existing code and/or perform unit testing.
  • Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
  • Resolve complex technical design issues.
  • Create system documentation/play books and participate as a reviewer and contributor in
    requirements, design and code reviews.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on various software applications.
  • Partner with experienced team members to develop accurate work estimates on work packages.
  • May serve as a mentor on procedural matters to less experienced internal and third-party team
    members.
  • Production Support for Application Outages.
  • Support departmental processes, such as change management, incident management or
    problem management.
  • Must be available to work regular business hours Pacific Standard Time.
  • Must also be available to work on-call, evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of application engineering and/or Operations.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Ansible and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of web applications including Java, J2EE, JSP and EJB.
  • Knowledge of web technologies including CSS, HTML5 and XML.
  • Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies.
  • System knowledge of Spotfire, MS Dynamics, MS Insights, ELK a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.
  • Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux Systems.
  • Knowledge of Telecom Business Transactions.
  • Knowledge of Telecom Order Management Systems.
  • Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment and reasoning skills to a variety of
    situations.
  • Ability to multi-task and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within critical deadlines.
  • Ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities and schedules.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.

color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment and Additional Information:
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a
computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office or
work from home setting.
