ROLE
We are currently seeking a qualified technical sales individual to work in the Chemistry Department. The Chemistry Department at ATS has a broad range of analytical capabilities. Our philosophy is "We take a closer look” with a goal of making the world a safer and more reliable place.
This senior level position at ATS, Inc. will act as a technical interface for customers in need of non-routine testing. The application engineer will work closely with the laboratory staff and sales staff to assist in development of unique test protocols and deliver timely customer service. Position may be performed as a combination of remote and in-facility work.
Responsibilities
Understanding of chemistry test techniques, including metals and organics chemistry, polymer testing and consumer product testing. Knowledge should be thorough enough to provide guidance to customers and work closely with the technical staff.Candidate would optimally have a broad knowledge of other materials testing techniques, including metallurgical testing, mechanical testing and environmental simulation.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively by interacting with sales staff, scientists, engineers, and technicians.
Self-motivated to meet deadlines while working in a fast paced environment.
Understanding of material specification standards including but not limited to ASTM, ASME, ISO and AMS.
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
Good working knowledge of specifications for various metallic material grades.
Exhibits initiative, curiosity, and a positive attitude on how to get the job done.
Essential to the success in this role will be excellent verbal and written skills in the English language.
Proficient with all Microsoft office software
Bachelor's in chemistry or related science
1-5 yr experience or demonstrated applied skill working in a laboratory
5-10 yr experience as technical interface for customers supporting sales
