This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.
Do you have a passion for digital services for insight and trends? DMV's Information Systems Division (ISD) is seeking a motivated technology-forward thinking Information Technology (IT) Developer to be a part of a dynamic team that serves in the Intelligent Automation Products Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the quality, reliability, user experience and access of DMV technology products. As an IT Specialist 1, you will be instrumental in interpreting technology and/or business problems, formulating and presenting solutions to stakeholders. IT Specialist 1 is responsible for analysis, design, application development and documentation. IT Specialist 1 possess a good practical technical knowledge base, which includes emerging "cutting-edge" technologies. The IT Specialist 1 performs Software Engineering domains and duties related to the developing and supporting software systems including user research, user-centric design, development, configuration, testing, and implementation.

Working Conditions
Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency.
Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. DMV operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The incumbent may be required to carry a work cell phone and laptop. There may also be times when the incumbent is required to attend an out of town conference, or work evenings and weekend to maintain project schedules. This position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818. Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee's own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.

The DMV is responsible for registering approximately 36 million vehicles in California, and serving 30 million driver license and identification card holders, collecting over $11 billion in annual revenue. Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
• 3+ years hands-on SaaS application experience, with preference for candidates that have worked in customer-facing, software implementation roles. • Experience in Collecting Requirement and Business Analysis. • Experience with web design, cascading style sheets (CSS), and usability best practices. • Experience with PowerBI, Microsoft Azure, Relational and NoSQL databases, SQL querying, scripting languages (SQL, PowerShell, Python etc.), Automation, Microsoft Office Suite. • Integration experience using, but not limited, to various web services technologies including RESTful and SOAP • A problem-solver who takes responsibility, demonstrates personal integrity, and can effectively deal with difficult and/or ambiguous situations • Highly proficient in collaborating with project stakeholders, end-users, business partners, and Delivery team members to deliver high quality projects. • Able to look at big picture and visualize opportunities for streamlining processes.
