In the IT Quality Assurance - Journey position within the Planning & Delivery Section/Test Team, you will serve strategic and tactical purposes in maintaining a high-quality revenue collection and distribution system and application portfolio.
This position contributes and executes rapid, repeatable Quality Assurance services on Revenue and cross-agency applications ensuring they are error free and correctly performing. Additionally, you will expose issues early in the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to reduce costs, risk, development time, rewrites, and post-production errors.
Here are some of the essential functions you can expect:
  • Provides senior level testing approach and planning coverage for agency applications to ensure compliance with predefined plans, security standards, and performance needs.
  • Creates tests artifacts, including test plans, user stories, and test scenarios.
  • Validates business requirements are met and facilitates UAT with end-users, when appropriate.
  • Develops and executes test automation, test scripts, or manual tests to expose application issues, including the use of the C# development language, or the Selenium Test Automation Suite in order to eliminate or reduce production release errors.
  • Performs advanced testing techniques verifying deployment, system testing, and devise verification on complex revenue processing systems and applications.
  • Creates, executes, and records test results in direct support of project sponsors and test content management.
Telework Option - Full-time telework is available for this position, however, the official duty station for this position is the Tumwater Office. The incumbent may be required to report to the office occasionally for training and equipment issue/upgrade.
A bachelor's degree in information technology software development or related field AND at least one year's experience with development, installation, configuration, customization of the .NET technologies.
OR
At least three years' experience in a software testing environment using iterative (agile-like) methodologies AND demonstrated experience in:
  • Azure Dev Ops, Visual Studio, .NET technologies.
  • Testing a COTS implementation (i.e., Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management).
  • Information technology components such as networking (i.e., server and database tiers), operating systems and MS Office applications.
  • How application languages and database are used to create information systems.
  • Performing development using at least one of the following:
    • C# .NET.
    • ASP.NET.
    • VB.NET.
    • Power Shell Scripting.
