We are looking for a skilled and experienced Apparel Designer with a strong background in designing apparel for Wal-Mart, with a particular focus on maternity wear. The ideal candidate will be responsible for trend forecast and design, creating technical sketches, overseeing design and development processes, and managing design development with overseas factories.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute design concepts for tops and dresses for Missy, maternity, and plus size ensuring that designs align with Wal-Mart’s brand and quality standards.

• Create detailed technical sketches and CADs paying close attention to detail, function, and fit.

• Collaborate with the team in China to oversee the development process, address any design-related issues, and ensure timely delivery of samples for meetings.

• Research current trends in the fashion market, materials, and techniques to drive innovation.

• Participate in fittings and review samples to provide feedback on fit, construction, and design details.

• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturers to facilitate a smooth workflow and successful product launches.
• • Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and customer preferences
• Keep track of retail calendar and must meet calendar deadlines for deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related fields.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Apparel Designer, with a focus on Wal-Mart products.

• Previous experience in designing maternity is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in creating technical sketches using design software such as Adobe Illustrator and photoshop. 3D design is a strong plus.

• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and production processes.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.

• Passion for fashion design, creativity, and a keen eye for detail.
