University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Solid Organ Transplant team in a supervisory role to provide day-to-day leadership and management of APRN/PA staff.
In This Role, You Will:
- Supervise and manage multiple APRN/PA SOT advanced practice providers at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.
- Manage the coordination of recruiting, hiring, onboarding, orientation, and training and mentoring of new APP hires.
- Management of staff development, performance, coaching, and staff recognition.
- Leads and promotes program changes to achieve organizational goals. Leads efforts to optimize the efficiency and utilization of the APRN/PA role.
- Ensures coordination of the APRN/PA work schedule.
- Conducts goal setting and performance reviews of direct reports.
- Works closely with human resources (and physician/administrative leader if appropriate) to resolve staff performance issues
- Aligns UMP's goals of increasing access to patient care through a productive and financially viable APRN/PA care model
- Serves as a leader in employee engagement efforts.
- Collaborates with appropriate administrators, service line/department/division medical director, and other stakeholders on issues of complex practice change, clinical development, and space planning.
- Leads the APRN/PA team in developing and completing process improvement and/or research projects
- Delegates tasks to team members when appropriate
- Maintains appropriate clinical practice in accordance with assigned position including coordination and facilitation of the delivery of care to patients within a defined area of medicine as part of a team-based care model. Care can be provided in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting. May be required to be on call.
- This position will spend approximately 20% of their time on supervisory responsibilities and 80% delivering patient care.
- Participates in professional organizations and/or local professional councils.
We're Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or is nationally certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license through the Board of Nursing (NP's).
- Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
- Have a minimum of one (1) year of related clinical experience in SOT.
- Demonstrated leadership, teaching, evaluation and communication skills. Organization and critical thinking skills.
