Position Summary
We are seeking a Antique Boutique Sales Manager for our high-end Antique Boutique. Must have retail sales experience preferably in Antiques or Home Décor. Understands and uses positive selling techniques to meet weekly revenue goals in sales. Goal driven enthusiasm required for achieving commission sales along with generous hourly rate. Prospecting sales and direct sales, aggressively, yet, conveyed to the customer in a tasteful, friendly, and professional manner who have distinguished taste in fine antiques. Point of Sales and Inventory Management software skills required along with On-line Sales Posting knowledge.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting guests and responding to guest inquiries.
- Receive, process, catalog, and ship Antique Boutique deliveries.
- Examine products received from storage to assess the condition of each product or item.
- Ensure that antiques are clean, in excellent shape and attractively displayed.
- Coordinate antique repairs.
- Research of antique history, pricing and tagging of antiques.
- Maintain the antique warehouse as an extension of the showroom. Ensure that warehouse items are displayed and organized for appropriate guest and customer viewing and handling.
- Inventory management. Coordinates with Antique/Design Project Coordinator that all inventory is up-to-date, accurate and accounted for in each location of the spa; accurately enter and maintain antique inventory into the database; conduct accurate inventory twice per year to ensure that each piece is accounted for and tagged.
- Website photography, content loading, upkeep, and sales for antiques website.
- Formulate pricing policies for merchandise, according to profitability requirements.
- Develop methods and procedures to increase sales and promote business such as marketing promotions to in-house guests, Designer Day events for designers and their clients and working with Southern California design centers.
- Use the online marketplace such as 1st dibs to generate sales, manage and update the content and offerings regularly.
- Update the Cal-a-Vie website regularly to promote sales.
- Manage and submit content to all social media sites to promote sales.
- Follow up on all inquiries within 24 hours.
- Prepare inventory and sales reports.
- Plan budgets.
- Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and operating procedures for the department.
- Meet established sales goals set forth by management.
- Maintain records required for the efficient operation of the department.
- Follow all responsibilities, policies and procedures in the Cal-a-Vie Employee Manual.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education/Certification: (2) years’ experience in a customer service, retail or as an Interior Designer.
Knowledge: Knowledgeable of general principles of home décor and design, (i.e. furniture, carpet, draperies, and color schemes)
Experience: Two years’ experience in a successful sales role in a furniture or interior design environment.
Skills/Abilities: Ability to assist in choosing antiques that will fit guest wants and needs for space, style and color;Ability to choose materials and decorative items to enhance the beauty of the spa; Strong understanding of selling and marketing techniques, ability to apply them and ability to close sales; Strong understanding of inventory and budgets; Excellent computer skills with a minimum of an intermediate knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and POS systems, Resort Suite or similar system; Ability to work with online marketplace sites, upload and manage photos and profiles. Ability to be creative and ability to work independently; strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle and meet strict deadlines, challenges, and various types of personalities with ease. Ability to resolve issues professionally and with tact and understanding.
Availability: Available and ability to work hours that fulfill the essential requirements of the job
