Join a winning team supporting the Communications Department at Scripps Green Hospital where you will be making a difference in our patient experience as an Answering Service Attendant.
In this role, you will perform the following functions:
- Answer calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination.
- Appropriately respond to and document emergency situations, per policy and guidelines.
- Act as a part of a team, including training new employees.
- Page physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or over-head PA system.
- Complete additional tasks such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices and completing and distributing daily sheets.
- After physician office hours, answer and document patient calls, contacting appropriate on-call physician as necessary.
- Maintain physician on call schedules at each workstation, in on-call change book and on current monthly schedules.
Qualifications
Required Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to work in fast pace environment using repetitive hand motion with the ability to multi-task.
- Medical terminology, health care experience, and Call Center/PBX/Answering Service experience.
