Under general supervision, assist the primary animal health technician. Assist in cleaning animal cages, feed and socialize with the animals. Do laundry and regular maintenance; as well as assist the technician in charge with other duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. of supplies, equipment and animals.
- Handle, move, and transport animals.
- Contact with animals.
- Work with animal dander, bedding material.
- Work in restricted area, wear protective clothing, and handle bio-hazardous material.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work in an environment where animals are used in research.
- No smoking, eating, or drinking in animal areas.
- Position is subject to medical surveillance procedures and review in accordance with Federal, State, and University requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High School Education
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Basic knowledge of feline husbandry and handling.
- Weekend and holidays availability.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Experience working in an animal research setting.
- Experience working in feline husbandry.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
- Knowledge of University and IACUC policies.
