The Yard and kennel sanitation worker is key to the overall success of Como Pet Lodge. This job is very fast paced, hands-on, physically active, and requires continuous mental focus and teamwork. Starting on the very first day, Associates are exposed to all aspects of our service offerings.

Kennel and yard sanitation worker:

The Sanitation position is truly the backbone of Como Pet Lodge. This position is key to maintaining a healthy and clean environment for our staff and dogs. It is physically demanding, requires good communication skills and attention to detail. Our facility can have up to a hundred borders at once and so demands that all of our teammates be reliable and responsible. This is a take charge and pride in what you do kind of position.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all outdoor Kennels are sterilized each day.
• Ensure all Indoor Kennels are sterilized each day.
• Lead with a CALM CONFIDENCE, especially when dogs begin to escalate
• Provide clean bedding to boarders who do not eat bedding.
• Refresh and clean water for all outside kennels.
• Record how much all the dogs have eaten Am and Pm on their boarding sheets.
• Ensure cat condos are sterilized and properly set up.
• Leaf blowing.
• Communicate possible upcoming maintenance needs to Management to maintain property and kennel safety.
• Ensure all cleaning supplies are properly labeled and put in designated locations for safety.
• Inform Management when supplies or dog/cat food is running low.
• Responsible for ensuring the cleaning checklist provided is completed and signed off by MOD.

Qualifications:

Como Pet Lodge offers extensive training, including canine behavior and safe handling techniques. All you need to bring a good attitude, share our love of dogs, and be ready to work hard with an amazing team! Below are the qualifications for a successful candidate:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
• Willingness to learn
• A good attitude
• Some basic dog knowledge
• Punctual with a solid work ethic
• Able to work in a fast-paced, active indoor/outdoor environment with exposure to outside elements
• Able to work standing and/or walking during entire shift (minimum 4 hours, maximum 8 hours) Use of hands, arms, and shoulders in repetitive motion with occasional bending, twisting and squatting
• Frequently lift weight up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50+ lbs

Compensation

• Starting pay is $15.00 hr for Full and Part Time positions
• Advancement opportunities, along with additional pay raises, are available for Part-Time and full time positions after 6mo.. This does NOT include medical benefits (health care, dental, and vision insurance)
