Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. As an Animal Caretaker, you will be responsible for providing excellent care and support to a variety of animals. Duties:
- Provide daily care and feeding for animals, ensuring their health and well-being
- Clean and maintain animal enclosures, including kennels, stables, and cages
- Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the supervisor
- Assist with grooming and bathing animals as needed
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Exercise animals regularly to promote physical fitness and mental stimulation
- Assist with training programs for dogs or other animals
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medical treatments, and behavior observations
- Follow proper procedures for aseptic technique when handling laboratory animals
- Provide pet sitting services for clients as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in animal care or related field preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures
- Familiarity with dog handling techniques and basic dog training principles
- Experience with equine care is a plus
- Understanding of animal husbandry practices and principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
