Description:

The Analytical Chemistry Technologist responsible for performing analysis of tests on samples from nutraceutical, agricultural, food and beverage products using GC/GC-MS, HPLC/HPLC-MS and other instrumentations needed to meet business needs.


Major Accountabilities

· Adheres to ISO 17025 quality standards by ensuring testing is in compliance.

• Advanced knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of Analytical Chemistry sufficient to carry out complex analysis and electronic data processing.

• Thorough knowledge of the chromatographic technique in operating and maintaining the LCMS or GC system.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside of the organization.

• Conducts literature searches and interpret/adapt published analytical methods.

• Celebrate diversity and a strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment.

• Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory. Performs preventative maintenance on instrumentation as needed.

• Provide training and positive leadership to laboratory technicians and serves as a resource for routine testing questions.

• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, able to handle multiple tasks, capable of prioritizing and planning work activities,


Requirements:

Knowledge of quality assurance principles, sample handling and legal chain-of-custody.

• Previous experience and knowledge of working in ISO17025 accredited laboratory environment.

• Previous hands-on experience in industry lab using AAS, ICP-MS, GC/GC-MS, UHPLC/HPLC or LC-MS/MS system.

• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage and prioritize a large volume of samples and complete tests by due dates.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in chemistry/Analytical Chemistry or 2) Food Science major with 5 years of experience.

Skills: Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, able to handle multiple tasks, capable of prioritizing and planning work activities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness. Must be able to work with others to provide training in a professional and positive manner. Must lead by example. Must be proficient in the use of PC’s, databases, Microsoft windows applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
