Outcomes. Delivered.
GCOM develops technology that helps governments improve outcomes for the people they serve.
For example, our technology:

  • Ensures that mothers can buy healthy food for their children through the WIC program.
  • Helps first responders decrease opioid overdoses in their neighborhoods.
  • Tracks trends in human trafficking so local law enforcement can identify traffickers and better support victims.
  • Gives teachers the insights they need to spot students who need extra support.
  • Helps state tax agencies process returns 99% faster so taxpayers get their refunds right away.

In summer of 2023, GCOM merged with OnCore Consulting, a preeminent provider of technology modernization and digital transformation services for the public sector. Combined, GCOM and OnCore form a large-scale digital software and solutions company focused solely on the state, local, and federal agencies, providing outcome-driven, repeatable software and services.
We're more than a technology company -- we're an outcomes company.
We encourage our employees to think differently, ask tough questions, and relentlessly pursue what's best for our customers and the residents they serve.
We believe that the value of technology is defined by its human impact. If you agree, you've come to the right place.
GCOM and OnCore are looking for candidates to fill the role of Analytic Modeling Leadto manage a team of data scientists that are using predictive analytics and machine learning models to support business operations for our state government clients. This individual will support the team throughout the project life cycle, including confirming business requirements, contributing to and reviewing design artifacts and technical documentation, and overseeing development, quality testing, deployment, and maintenance. In addition, this role will contribute to project management activities, including people management, planning and monitoring team tasks/schedules, managing client expectations, representing the firm to the client and teaming partners, and/or identifying and resolving project issues and risks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and monitor the team's tasks and schedule, ensuring all work is delivered on time and meets quality standards.
  • Meet with Government clients to understand their business needs, define modeling objectives, identify data sources, and develop analysis plans.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to a team of modelers as they perform analysis, build analytic data sets, and train, test, and evaluate models.
  • Develop recommendations based on completed research and analysis and present recommendations to government clients.
  • Ensure adherence to project processes and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Review and contribute to project documentation and artifacts.
  • Use Azure DevOps to monitor tasks, manage requirements, and maintain traceability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional vendor and client teams as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience consulting or industry related experience
  • 2+ years of people management or leadership experience
  • 5+ years of experience using data mining methods, such as clustering or anomaly detection, to understand data patterns and select appropriate predictive techniques in an academic or professional setting
  • 5+ years of experience designing and building mathematical models using a variety of techniques, such as logistic regression, decision tree, or random forest, in an academic or professional setting
  • 5+ years of experience with statistical programming using tools such as Python, R, or SQL in an academic or professional setting
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Adaptable, able to quickly learn project tools and procedures
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location.
At GCOM, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current annual range is $95,900 to $158,300.
