Job Description
SUMMARY
The Analyst, Retail GIS will support, manage, and implement new database, web application, and visualization functionality utilizing Esri GIS (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Business Analyst), supporting Hibbett business areas. The GIS Analyst will be tasked with integrating / maintain / update business information with geographic enrichment, provide spatial analytics, queries and visualization garnering insight for strategic decisions across the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use geoprocessing tools (existing / create new), mapping applications, dashboards, reports to meet organization business needs.
- Build and maintain enterprise GIS content ensuring datasets and spatial tools are current, accurate, and relevant, resolving any data quality issues through routine cleaning and testing.
- Interact with enterprise data systems using Python, SQL, and Alteryx, leading effort to automate updating GIS datasets and run spatial analyses.
- Integrate data from internal and external sources, ensuring visual data, including store database and locations, is presented correctly.
- Proactively research to improve areas of opportunity and decision-making with enhanced data quality.
- Conducts geospatial analysis, ad hoc reporting as necessary for dissemination of data insights to key internal stakeholders.
- Support GIS users, including senior management, through training, technical support, and spatial analysis.
- Demonstrates critical thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills as it pertains to data, reporting and analytics.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
- 2+ years’ experience and knowledge with GIS databases and the Esri platform including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Business Analyst and ArcGIS applications.
- Proficency with Esri ModelBuilder, Python, and ArcPY.
- Experience with GIS database editing, QA/QC processes and geoprocessing.
- Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL server, or other relational database systems.
- Proficency with Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in addition to Business Intelligence MicroStrategy, Alteryx Designer, and Power BI software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to effectively manage large amounts of data.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking and strong organizational skills with the flexibility to be proactive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment collaborating across Hibbett functional areas.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
