Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Purchases goods and services according to the Donaldson policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate ability to:
- College degree in related field highly preferred but not required.
- At least two years of purchasing experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies beneficial.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to use computer, proficiency in Oracle, PDM, MS-Office, MSDS Online, web based apps, etc.
- Interact constructively and effectively with all plant employees
- Ability to work in a team environment toward a common goal
- Reacts to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the manufacturing facility to determine purchasing needs.
