Responsibilities
Oaktree's Closed-End Portfolio Analytics and Reporting (CE-PAR) team is seeking an individual to join our team to support our Closed-End strategies generally and Real Estate strategies in particular, out of our Los Angeles office. We are looking for a hardworking individual with a passion for alternative investments as well as data and analytics technologies. This individual will support the Strategy Leads for our Real Estate strategies to partner with the Investment Team, Product Management, and Accounting to produce portfolio management reports, prepare client reports and prospect materials accurately, consistently and on time, by leveraging current technology solutions for scale.
Responsibilities include:
  • Successfully deliver analyses, dashboards and reports to the Investment Teams, prospects, consultants and clients related to the positions invested by these strategies;
  • Develop into a subject matter expert on the strategies and resource to the Investment Team, Product Specialists, Marketing Representatives and Client Services;
  • Evolve our reporting suite in response to, and in anticipation of, new strategies, client and industry demands and in collaboration with other team members for other strategies;
  • Master system technology to learn to source data and create new data extracts (leveraging Python, SQL and Power BI). Review financial data for various Oaktree portfolios and produce Analytics and Reporting for presentations and publications;
  • Understand the full suite of work CE-PAR is responsible for within Oaktree.

Qualifications
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working at an Asset Management company, Investment Bank or other related financial services company (including financial services technology vendors) in a risk management, portfolio operations and analysis capacity.
  • Strong technical/ programming skills, including intermediate Python, SQL, some familiarity with databases, visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant reporting outputs and metrics including portfolio accounting, performance reporting, risk metrics and portfolio characteristics.
  • Experience analyzing financial data and metrics with sufficient familiarity to recognize potential issues.
  • Experience managing and manipulating large amounts of data.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and AWS a plus.
  • Familiarity with alternative investments and/or closed-end portfolios is preferred.
  • Familiarity with different portfolio aggregation perspectives: Region/Country breakdown, property breakdown, maturity distributions, credit quality ratings.

Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Base Salary Range
$75,000 - $90,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
