The Guttenberg Family Resource Center is a department of the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital that services Clayton County and its surrounding counties. The center focuses on health and wellness, safety, food insecurity, transportation, housing, mental health, and substance abuse.

As the Americorps Community Care Coordinator at GMHC Family Resource Center, you will play a vital role in establishing and managing a formal volunteer program to oversee the food pantry and organize center donations. Your responsibilities will include creating a volunteer schedule, conducting orientations, developing training manuals, and implementing recruitment strategies. Additionally, you will supervise and support volunteers, serve as the Resource Navigator for the center, update the Resource Guide monthly, document client needs, and identify gaps in services.

Your input will be crucial in reporting service gaps at interagency meetings and collaborating with staff to find innovative solutions. This dynamic position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in Guttenberg, Iowa, and surrounding areas.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Be 18 years or older at the start of service (no upper age limit)
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Must pass background check though Guttenberg Municipal Hospital
• Provide documentation of COVID-19 vaccination
• Hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US national, or Lawful Permanent Resident
• Certify that they have or will obtain the diploma/GED
