We are hiring an Automation Robotics Engineer on our Residential Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team in our Tyler, Texas office.
Job Summary
The Trane Residential Automation Robotics Engineer will develop automation and robotic solutions for our Residential manufacturing and distribution sites. As a member of the Residential AME team, this role will collaborate with site resources/stakeholders, the Trane Technologies Advanced Manufacturing Technology team, design engineering, and equipment suppliers to develop innovative solutions to improve plant performance in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
Essential Skills
- Experience in developing robotic applications in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in programming industrial robots (online and offline)
- Hands on experience in setting up of Robots and configuring Robot IO's
- Experience in the off-line robotic simulation process in conjunction with PLC I/O's and application data.
- Hands on experience in interfacing safety devices like E-Stops, light curtain, area scanners with robot programming
- Hands on experience in interfacing with PLC, remote IO's and HMI
- Experience in exchanging tags and data between Robots and PLC's through commonly used industrial protocols like Ethernet IP, EtherCAT, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus etc.,
- Knowledge on safety (OSHA, SDS), ANSI (RIA) standards
- Knowledge on setting up base structures for robot installation according to company standards.
- Troubleshoot and update Robot programs based on component change/manufacturing needs.
- Managing budget, schedule, resources & project risks
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
Travel:
• Willing to travel domestically as required to support assigned projects and responsibilities. Travel requirements will vary based on assigned projects and project phase.
