An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of aircraft, ensuring that they are safe and in proper working condition. The job description of an A&P mechanic typically includes the following duties:
- Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft components and systems, including airframes, engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Conducting inspections to identify and diagnose mechanical or electrical issues.
- Repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems, using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Overhauling engines and other aircraft components as needed.
- Testing aircraft systems to ensure they meet performance specifications and safety standards.
- Documenting all maintenance and repair work, including the use of maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other technical documents.
- Ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and company policies.
- Working closely with other mechanics, engineers, and inspectors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with new technologies and regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $73,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
