Role Overview:
As an Experimental Aircraft Mechanic, you will play a vital role in performing custom work on Experimental Aircraft for our valued customers. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough inspections, performing maintenance and modifications, troubleshooting complex issues, and executing necessary repairs. While having an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certification is preferred, we welcome candidates with a strong mechanical background and experience in aviation or Experimental Aircraft maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, maintenance, modifications, and repairs on Experimental Aircraft, meeting the specific requirements of each client's project.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and avionic issues that may arise during custom work or flight operations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to understand and implement modifications or upgrades to the aircraft systems.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry advancements, best practices, and safety regulations pertaining to Experimental Aircraft maintenance.
- Document all work, maintenance, and repair activities accurately, maintaining detailed records of each aircraft's history.
- Assist in maintenance schedules, ensuring compliance with relevant recommendations and aviation regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in general aircraft maintenance, preferably with exposure to Experimental Aircraft.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various aircraft systems, including avionics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of aircraft blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a dynamic environment.
