About This Role:
UWL, a World Group company, is currently looking for a driven & client-oriented multitasker to join our family as an Air Freight Specialist for our growing office in Schaumburg, IL!
The Air Freight Specialist will interact directly with customers to build and strengthen relationships, coordinate cargo bookings, and conduct analysis to help customers maximize UWL’s service offerings. Does this sound like you or fit your experience? Get in touch with us by applying here.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide impeccable customer service and have the skills to build and maintain strong relationships
- Collaborate with coworkers, other UWL offices, and third-party agents to ensure efficiency and continued customer relationship development
- Understand and manage financial details of shipments for proper billing of customers
- Generate, file, and maintain up-to-date customer records, reports, shipment documentation, etc.
- Provide support (reporting, documentation, etc.) to internal and external customers (Sales Executives and Account Managers)
- Involved in preparation and/or attendance in customer business reviews
- Ensure adherence to customer SOPs, government agency regulations, and UWL company standards
Qualifications
- 2-5+ years’ experience in International Logistics, air-freight experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with an LMS such as CargoWise strongly preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills and follow up
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven office environment
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills and phone etiquette
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Working Conditions
Normal office working conditions with low noise level in an open environment.
