The AI Program Manager holds a pivotal role at the intersection of business and technology within the CSS organization. Tasked with one of the most transformative initiatives in our company's history, this individual will advocate for both our internal and external users, ensuring the alignment of our AI engineering efforts with business objectives.

Operating in a high-stakes, dynamic environment, the AI Program Manager will serve as the vital link guaranteeing our organization not only achieves, but surpasses its strategic aims. The candidate should possess technical proficiency in AI and its related fields, with the ability to navigate complex AI-infused projects and use AI-driven insights to enhance business outcomes.
In-depth knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning algorithms, and related tools is required for this role. Experience in managing AI projects, including the development and deployment of AI models and solutions, is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of integrating AI capabilities into business operations and creating value through the use of AI technologies. Communication skills, strategic thinking, and a user-centric approach are key attributes required for this role.

This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be required to directly liaise with businesses to facilitate a program from its initiation to delivery. Your daily duties will include managing the delivery of project tasks, activities, milestones and resources. This position also involves the development, maintenance, and management of project requirements, plans, timelines, issues, risks, and challenges.
You will be required to support business owners in driving large programs or multiple projects, and work closely with program/process owners to identify business changes. You will be tasked with driving the consensus necessary to adopt a manageable change strategy.

The role involves managing large programs and complex projects that include multiple parties/organizations with conflicting agendas and business priorities. You will be expected to lead large, cross-organization project teams towards targeted and scheduled outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess collaboration skills across teams/groups/organizations. The ability to foresee and analyze project risks, develop risk management plans and mitigate subsequent issues is crucial.

Candidates should have high-powered analytical skills and the ability to understand concepts and situations that may go unnoticed by others. Excellent communication skills, including at the executive level, are essential. Experience working with external vendors, project management skills, leadership skills, and demonstrated experience managing large-scale programs are also required.

Accountability for Organizational Success: While not directly involved in feature implementation, take full accountability for the organization's success. Ensure that all initiatives, projects, and tasks align with the broader organizational goals and contribute positively to the company's growth and reputation.

Collaboration: Exceptional skills in forging, productive relationships with diverse teams, especially engineering units. A history of successful partnership and collaboration in complex, multi-team environments is essential.

Strategic Vision: Ability to see the "big picture" and translate user feedback and business needs into actionable roadmaps and strategies. Experience in setting, monitoring, and adjusting strategic directions based on evolving business landscapes.

Accountability: A mindset that embraces responsibility for the broader organizational success, ensuring that every decision and action taken aligns with the company's overarching goals.

Technical Acumen: Hands-on technical role, a deep understanding of technology, especially in the realm of AI solutions, is beneficial. This understanding aids in effective communication and collaboration with engineering teams.


Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
Technical Program Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $158,500 - $276,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,800 - $304,200 per year.
