Job description

This position will start in the 2024-2025 school year. Description: Teaching assignment will include some of the following: Intro to Metals (welding), Mechanics and Fabrication (cnc plasma table, small gas engines), horticulture, forestry, and animal science. There is the possibility of adjusting the teaching assignment in future to meet the needs of the program and strengths of the instructors.Negotiable extended day contract.

Extended day contract may be included in FFA advising and SAE management Minimum Requirements:Valid Washington state secondary teaching certificateValid CTE Certification requiredExperience with advising FFA and SAE projectsValid CPR card.Demonstrate knowledge of an integrated curriculum and a commitment to broaden knowledge in curriculum and teaching methods by participating in professional development.Experience in coaching FFAResponsibilities:Work with CTE and school staff in meeting needs of all students enrolled in classes.Maintain appropriate student records for grades, attendance, SAE projects, fairs, proficiency awards, and other student awards.Document extended day activities.Maintain appropriate student discipline and supervision in classes and in FFA activities.Assist in curriculum and framework development.Actively participate with advisory committees and FFA Booster ClubCommitment to student recruitment in the agriculture program and FFA.Assist students in planning and developing FFA projects, preparing for Career Development events, competitions, and all other components of the National and State FFA Association with the other advisor.Perform other duties as assigned. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT and Salary:As outlined by and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) of Kettle Falls Education Association (KFEA) and Policies and Procedures of Kettle Falls School District. The salary range for teachers in the Kettle Falls School District is between $50,177 and $93,319 per school year. Placement is defined within the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and is generally based upon a combination of Education and Experience.

Other forms of compensation may be available to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range or wage scale as defined within the current collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Each employee shall accumulate twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. An employee employed less than a full term shall be entitled to a proportionate part of the sick leave allowance Each employee shall earn five (5) annual leave days per year.

Employees less than 1.0 FTE will receive a prorated share of annual leave based on their percentage of FTE. Employees anticipated to work more than 630 hours per year will be eligible for Benefits through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Positions anticipated to work 70 hours or more per month for at least 5 months over the school year are eligible for Retirement through the State Department of Retirement Services.

Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences. The successful candidate for this position must be fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
