General Summary:
Support testing of experimental aircraft and other parts, assemblies and items as required by Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Tasks will include but are not limited to, installation and torqueing of fasteners, drilling, and installation of rivets, assembly and install test setup fixtures and tools to within close tolerance specifications, perform adhesive bonding applications, perform calibration of test lab sensors and utilize state of the art sensor technology. Install instrumentation sensors on test aircraft and component test articles.
• Works from Structural Test and Production Work Orders, Written Work Instruction and Process Specifications. Will build aircraft assemblies, components, and test fixtures in a fast paced R&D environment.
• Maintains equipment and performs required preventive maintenance to insure proper operation.
• Works in a professional, productive and efficient manner, were all team members are encouraged to provide ideas for improvement.
• Experience working with Composites preferred (Carbon Fiber Epoxy and Preimpregnated Fabric) including but not limited to creating test panels and performing wet layup repairs.
• Participates in educational classes; reading technical publications, and cross-training.
• Maintains a flexible work schedule such as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift as well as weekends to meet departmental and company goals.
Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:
• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Prior R&D testing experience
• Experience with heavy hydraulic actuators.
• Background in electrical and instrumentation a plus. (soldering, troubleshooting, connector pin and unpin etc.).
• Prior test rig set up and support experience.

- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions.
- Experience using various hand tools, grinders, saws, etc.
- Ability to comply with appropriate paperwork, procedures, and processes.
- Ability to work independently or in a team, with minimal training or supervision.
- Maintains a safe and organized work environment by following procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Machining and fabrication skills a plus.
- Knowledge of aircraft structure is a plus.
- Knowledge of servo hydraulic systems and software is a plus.
- Knowledge of strain gauge installation and wiring is a plus.
