ISYS Technologies is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to support an ICBM flight system project. The Aerospace Engineer will work alongside a team of engineers to provide systems engineering, integration, and test support to an ICBM development and modification program primarily for the design and review of ICBM flight systems. Additional duties will include reviewing design tests, new material and prototypes testing for future production, review and repair existing systems, and analyze results for system development.  This position supports our customers' ICBM operational test and evaluation team.  This position will be based at Vandenberg Space AFB, CA and will require an active Top Secret Clearance. 
 
Aerospace Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Apply mathematical, scientific, and engineering principles to design, repair and improve ICBM component parts, facilities, materials, safety regulations and manufacturing processes
  • Research and analyze information to develop designs and solve problems
  • Support rocket and missile systems testing to find and correct potential problems and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and functionality requirements
  • Design and assemble control panels, propulsion systems, guiding systems, computer systems and other necessary parts and systems
  • Coordinate activities within production, research, testing, and other departments to optimize safety and efficiency
  • Write design proposals, reports, manuals, and other technical documents
  • Provide engineering support to investigate missile flight test anomalies and provide analysis in determining causes/malfunctions and develop corrective action solutions
  • Perform Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) accuracy analysis using GPS and telemetry data to estimate guidance and control contribution
  • Attend operational test launch meetings
  • Reconcile engineering estimates with flight test data and adjust engineering accuracy model if required
  • Trajectory estimation of reentry vehicles by use of various mathematical tools 

Aerospace Engineer Requirements and Education
  • 5 years or more work experience as an Aerospace Engineer or similar role
  • Strong understanding of materials, mathematics, science, thermodynamics, mechanics, robotics, aerodynamics, production methods and potential safety and functionality problems and solutions
  • Excellent research, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, project management and planning expertise
  • Proficiency with computers and software systems related to aerspace engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required
  • Active Top Secret Clearance

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
