The Pratt & Whitney Aero Thermal Fluids (ATF) organization is responsible for the functional aerodynamic design, analysis and performance of components and modules across all commercial and military product lines. 

The Nacelle Aero group is a part of the ATF organization focused on the aerodynamic design and analysis of commercial engine inlets, nacelles and nozzles, as well as significant integration with airframers and nacelle suppliers. 

We are seeking an Aero-Thermal Fluids Nacelle Aerodynamics doctoral candidate with strong technical, problem solving, communication and leadership skills to join our team and be part of continuing Pratt & Whitney's industry leadership in current and next generation gas turbine engine propulsion systems.  We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in computational fluid dynamics. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead aero-thermal fluids efforts as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, analyze, integrate, test, validate and deliver state of the art propulsion systems and technologies.
• Work with internal and external customers to achieve program goals on time and within budget.
• Typical tasks include conceptual design studies, product design & analysis, rig & engine testing, and technology development.  Additional responsibilities may include proposal development, technology planning, and airframe integration. 

Basic Qualifications:

• 2023 or 2024 PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace or a related STEM field.
• Travel up to 10%.
• U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in the aerospace and defense industry
• Computational fluid dynamics experience gained through research/course studies.
