Alternative Education Program (AEP) Aide
Multiple campuses
2022-2023
Assist AEP Administrator and teachers with the district's disciplinary alternative education program and dropout recovery alternative education programs in dissemination and management of classroom activities and record keeping.
Provide supervision of AEP students and activities. Work under supervision of AEP Administration.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Associate's degree or two years of study at an institute of higher learning (preferred)
Meet formal academic assessment required by ESSA, if applicable, or obtain a Texas edcational aide certificate
Job Requirements:
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to assist in instructing science, reading, writing, and mathematics
Ability to work well with students
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to build relationships with students within the guidelines of AEP programs
Experience:
Some experience working with children or in a public school setting
Work with individual students and student groups to provide effective interventions, clear instructions, model appropriate behavior to reduce recidivism to DAEP and prepare students for life after they earn their diploma.
