JOB SUMMARY:
- General knowledge of library resources and procedures, assist with development of and conducting training sessions for library staff on system-wide library policies, procedures and resources, including general orientation, customer service, telephone etiquette, and up-to-date technology skills.
- Assists with training programs to meet individual, departmental or system-wide needs.
- Works with Staff Trainer to plan and implement the annual Staff Development Day.
- Coordinates the preparation of training sessions, reserves training space, ensures all necessary equipment is available and in good working condition.
- Participates in training sessions; leads general sessions as assigned.
- Record and monitor staff participation and attendance at training programs; maintain monthly statistics.
- Completes administrative tasks such as answering emails, compiling training packets and materials, and providing general administrative support.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- One year of job related experience; knowledge of current library practices and technologies.
- Must be able to demonstrate end-user proficiency on computers; automated library systems, databases, Internet searching and other electronic resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employee, administrators, and elected officials.
- Organizational skills and the ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
- Requires weekend and evening work as assigned.
