WEAVE, founded in 1978, is Sacramento’s primary provider of services supporting domestic and sexual violence survivors. The Role: Under the direction of the IDEA Manager, the CF! Advocate provides supportive services and culturally responsive advocacy to survivors of domestic violence, including emotional support, safety planning, crisis intervention, and resources. As part of the Federal Administration for Children & Families, Celebrating Families for Survivors of Domestic Violence and their Children grant, the CF! Advocate will facilitate WEAVE’s Celebrating Families parenting groups with survivors and their children. Additionally, the Advocate will coordinate the successful implementation of WEAVE’s Celebrating Families program within the agency’s other programs and its clients, as well as in the community in partnership with community-based organizations. The CF! Advocate will work collaboratively with WEAVE and partner staff trained in WEAVE’s Celebrating Families program to communicate effectively and coordinate all aspects of the program, including preparing materials, coordinating schedules and logistics, engaging and retaining families, implementing the program to fidelity, administering evaluation assessments, completing all required data entry, and celebrating successes.

Approximately, this is how the CF! Advocate's time will be allocated on a day-to-day basis...

  • 70%: Facilitate, coordinate, and successfully implement WEAVE’s Celebrating Families program.
  • 30%: Provide culturally responsive support services to survivors of domestic violence and their children, including crisis intervention, advocacy, emotional support, education, employment and other and resources including internal and external referrals as needed.


Candidates interested in this position should have the following skillsets:

  • Survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive.
  • Adept at facilitating interactive conversations, offering activities, and providing support to survivors and their children.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, racial equity, and restorative justice.
  • Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback to improve work product and services.
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with survivors, CF! participants, and community partners.
  • Must maintain an open mind and hold space for non-judgmental conversation and healing.
  • Ability to advocate confidently, maintain confidentiality and hold appropriate boundaries.
  • Organized, dependable, flexible, and able to work both as a team member and independently.


Compensation:
The wage range for this position is $22.40 - $26.34 per hour.
