The Bioanalytical Research Group (BAR) at the Lilly Corporate Center is looking for a skilled scientist in protein biochemistry and mass spectrometry. The role involves contributing to innovative approaches in evaluating the ADME of therapeutic proteins, peptides, and new modalities like RNA-based therapeutics and antibody-drug-conjugates. The team collaborates with toxicology, PK/PD, Biotechnology Discovery Research, and multiple therapeutic areas. This collaboration aims to discover and characterize optimal biotherapeutic candidates for advancement to clinical testing across various modalities.

Have you acquired experience in mass spectrometry during your scientific career? Apply today to join the Lilly team!

Responsibilities:

  • The development and application of LC/MS-based assays using high resolution and QQQ instrumentation to measure complex therapeutic proteins in a wide variety of biological matrices, including tissues.
  • The application of mass spectrometric approaches to answer mechanistic questions related to target engagement, biotransformation, and biodistribution of therapeutic proteins.
  • Lead the characterization of oligo- and siRNA-based therapeutics, including developing strategies to explore their PK and metabolism in cells, tissues, and biofluids.
  • Directing the research activities of laboratory-based scientists to develop and implement mass spectrometric assays and develop new technologies.

It also includes evaluating the biotransformation of complex therapeutic proteins, such as antibody-drug conjugates, fusion proteins, multifunctional antibodies, and genetic medicines like siRNA-based therapeutics.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Knowledge of MS-informatic approaches to interpret complex data sets.
  • Experience in immunoassay development, automation, or MS informatic applications.
  • Experience with a wide variety of sample preparation techniques including SPE, LLE, PPT, and immunoaffinity/hybridization capture techniques.
