Responsibilities
Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management of patients in ambulatory, inpatient, or other clinical settings. Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans. Direct or participate in case management and continuing care. Collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, specialists, and other members of the health care team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high quality care. Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement projects, if available and as assigned. Participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the health care team, as applicable to Per Diem role.
Required service, to maintain clinical competencies and functional team relationships, and to meet the business needs of the division:
1. Clinical Activity
a. Minimum clinical work, regardless of specialty: 4 work days of per quarter (in a cluster or roughly one "shift" or "day" every 3 weeks.).
b. Provide availability for weekend, holiday or other shifts, per the routine staffing coverage in some clinical areas.
c. Comply with requirements to work a paid orientation shift, should there be a special circumstance resulting in a gap of three months or more between clinical workdays.
2. Training/CE/Professional Activities
a. Maintain licensure, and continuing education, and remain accountable for clinical skills and knowledge (time and expenses not reimbursable).
b. Maintain contact and communication with their supervisor and departmental leadership; this time cannot be paid separately (no clocking in), as these are professional responsibilities.
c. Maintain life support credentials and attend required SCH training (paid time).

Requirements
Education:
• Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program
• Physician Assistants-Certified (PA-C) are required to graduate from a nationally accredited physician assistant program.
Certification and Licensure:
• Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner
• Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) required for physician assistants
• NRP certification
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire if working in Seattle Children's Level IV NICU
• Licensure (ARNP or PA-C) in the state of WA
• DEA registration for the state of WA
Preferred:
- Two years experience in a nurse practitioner or physician assistant role
- Two years experience in pediatric health care.
Min to Max Hourly Salary
$90.00 - $90.00 /hr
Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children's offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
