DEFINITION:
The Admissions Representative is responsible for meeting or exceeding start objectives, maintaining the school database, and providing accurate information to prospective students; and performs related work as required.
SAMPLES OF DUTIES:
The information listed below is meant to serve as samples of job duties and responsibilities for positions in this classification. Under direct supervision of the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Representative is expected to:
- Give honest and precise information to prospective students. In order to do that, the Admissions Representative must:
- Understand the school catalog and curriculum
- Know the schools rules, policies, and procedures
- Be willing to refer the student to the appropriate department (i.e. financial aid)
- Give campus tours
- Meet or exceed the start goals. Some of the ways to do that are:
- Follow up on all leads;
- Follow up on all interested clients who must wait to attend or cancel for any reason
- Network with Case Managers and Counselors from the local valley agencies;
- Obtain WIA referrals, Letters of Authorization, and Skills Training Contracts as required.
- Attend and participate in various trade shows. Examples being, but not limited to:
- WIA
- Women’s Network
- Local area high schools
- Admissions Representatives are expected to enhance the marketing/advertising budget, not to solely rely on it by personally developing leads.
- Maintain the admissions database as required.
- Prepare, and obtain signatures from prospective students, on all admissions documents.
- Monitor new student attendance for the first two weeks of class. Follow up with new students to assist in ensuring their comfort with their choice of institutions.
- Contribute to the department ideas for marketing, promotions or advertisements.
- Assist with the front desk when needed.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service sessions, student orientation, graduation, and other school events as required by the school.

The Admissions Representative shall demonstrate experience and education commensurate with the responsibilities of the position. Generally, this includes: Exceptional communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with a diverse customer base; Must be a competent administrator and a self-starter and have the ability to work with little supervision; Must also be a team player, willing to share and exchange information and ideas; Must have the ability to make ethical decisions, doing what is always best for the students as well as the Company.
