At Hickory Hill Academy (HHA), we believe children are capable, curious, self-directed learners who respond positively to warm, loving guidance. Children crave intellectual stimulation and depend on encouragement and support to grow emotionally, morally and socially strong. This philosophy is integrated throughout our lower & middle school (Kindergarten-8th grade), preschool, childcare, and summer camp programs.
Fulfilling a vital role at Hickory Hill Academy (HHA), the Admissions Director sets and carries out the School’s strategic enrollment management strategy which involves the integration of recruitment, admission, and enrollment efforts. As well, this individual serves as a public advocate for the School.
Primary responsibilities include:
Communication and Marketing of School Information
· Respond to and follow up on phone and online inquiries
· Conduct interviews and tours for prospective families
· Attend local admission fairs and meetings
· Organize and participate in HHA’s admission events
Maintain current statistics/trends and best-practice admission procedures
· Oversee the setting of long-term and short-term enrollment goals that utilizes a data-driven approach to enrollment management
· Form and maintain strong relationships with local preschools and elementary schools
· Attend appropriate admissions conferences and workshops
· Track and prepare admissions statistics and trends for presentations to administration, faculty, and ownership
Evaluation of Applicants
· Organize individual assessments for all student applicants
· Meet with Admissions Committee to make admission decisions
· Communicate with applicants in a timely and sensitive way about admission decisions
Facilitation of New Family Transition
· Manage each new family’s transition into HHA until the start of the school year
· Assign Ambassador Families to new students and their parents, coordinate welcome efforts, and train these volunteers
· Help organize and attend the New Parent Party and offer welcome remarks and coordinate all related transition events
Administrative Responsibilities
· Support student retention and re-enrollment
· Maintain and update database using Blackbaud
· Work with the Director of Finance and Head of School on determining financial aid awards
· Maintain complete confidentiality about admissions decisions
· Other duties as required
