Administrator Critical Care-Johns Hopkins Medicine

SUMMARY
The Administrator - Critical Care is the administrative leader for Critical Care for Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM), Reporting jointly to the VP and CMO for Critical Care, along with the VP and COO for the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians, the Administrator has overall responsibility for the successful development, implementation and advancement of programmatic strategies and initiatives for Critical Care across the health system. In addition, the Administrator is responsible for strengthening critical care infrastructure with the goal of optimizing operational efficiency, resource utilization, quality metrics, clinical outcomes, research and education. Responsibilities extend to the nexus of critical care and intermediate care areas with adjacent services: the emergency departments, operating rooms and post-anesthesia care units throughout the system; as well as optimizing capacity management throughout the system. A core component of the position is innovating and leading the world across all areas of critical care operations, research, clinical care and education.
Interacting with JHM leadership in multiple JHHS/JHU entities, departments and schools; and with a variety of external stakeholders and collaborators, the Administrator works to further the academic, operational and strategic missions of Critical Care throughout the system. The Administrator is on the forefront of collaborating with some of the most talented, passionate and dedicated professionals committed to the mission of inventing the future of Critical Care and impacting the landscape of Critical Care practice through compassionate clinical care, research and education.
With a deep understanding and appreciation for academic medicine and with a high degree of financial acumen, the Administrator interacts with hospital operations leaders at all JHHS affiliate hospitals. The Administrator also works closely with the directors of other departments providing care to critically ill patients at all phases of their care, including follow-up care within the hospital and after discharge.
Well-positioned for the growth and expansion of services that require the support of high-functioning intensive care units and innovation, the Administrator is charged with the development, design, implementation and management of programs and services that will move Critical Care toward the vision and strategic goals of JHM.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Administrator reports jointly to the VP and CMO for Critical Care, along with the VP and COO for the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians, and works collegially and collaboratively with Johns Hopkins Medicine senior executives and JHU faculty across the system.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Advanced degree in business, health care administration, or related field
• 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a related field
• Previous experience in a hospital environment, experience in an academic medical center highly preferred
• Demonstrated record of related accomplishments
