(Contingent upon available funding): 15.00 - 17.50, Hourly Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Answer incoming telephone calls through the department's automatic call distributor (ACD), respond to bursar e-mail; greet, screen or refer individuals who have come to see the Bursar, Assistant Director or Financial Counselor.
Responsible for researching records, preparing account analysis, answering 1098t questions, bursar website questions, accepting and recording receipt of Express letters, packages and supplies, processing office mail, and accepting/processing refund checks.
Other duties as assigned. The Bursar Office is responsible for collections of past due accounts. Therefore, to be considered as an applicant, your bursar account must be in good standing with the University. This policy applies to all applicants considered for employment.Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Required:

High School/GED and four years experience in customer service and/or clerical duties.

Understanding and proficiency in customer service. Excellent communication skills. Practices good interpersonal skills when working with others. Capability to maintain the strictest confidentiality. Good problem-solving, research, and public relations skills. Aptitude for computerized record keeping systems and analytical ability. Team oriented in carrying out tasks with co-workers. Ability to cope with stress in a positive manner. Strong attention to detail. Flexibility to handle multiple priorities with poise and professionalism. Proficient in MS Office software, mainframe computer systems, and ten-key.

Since this office is responsible for collections of past due accounts, all Bursar Office employees bursar accounts must be in good financial standing. Therefore, this policy applies to any and all successful applicants considered for employment.
 
Preferred:

Higher education administration; OSU experience; Bursar Office experience; Proficiency using Outlook e-mail.
