OVERVIEW:
The Administrative & Social Services Assistant is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the office & family services department at the Gilroy Corps.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the operation of the Family Services in the absence of the Corps Officers
- Coordinate with other staff and volunteers to ensure that duties and assignments for various corps programs are met
- Prepare food boxes for clients
- Assist in serving the hot meal lunches
- Recording statistics of all Corps and Social Services programs
- Providing monthly reports for Finance, GIK report, and Food Bank Reports
- Implement and enforce all Salvation Army personnel policies
- Responsible for Second Harvest of Silicon Valley (Food Bank) ordering
- Responsible for making sure deposits are made promptly and mail appeal is sent to Arizona weekly
- Compose and mail donor/partners thank you letters/cards
- Responsible for Kettle support
- Assist in TSAMM Grants and Contracts module
- Contact Advisory Board members for meetings
- Other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- CA Driver’s license (required)
- 21 years of age (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience in data entry
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs (preferred)
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Organizational and client management skills
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (Usually file boxes)
