DYS is the juvenile corrections system for the state of Ohio. DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders, ages 10-21, who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohio's 88 county juvenile courts. The Opportunity...
We are seeking an administrative support professional with considerable knowledge of processes and procedures for special education documentation requirements. Successful candidate will be detail-oriented and possess exceptional organizational skills. Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Review all incoming student education files for necessary special education documentation
• Identify student's previous schools and request/obtain any and all necessary special education documentation
• Maintain assignment of Intervention Specialist caseloads
• Maintain records of all Individual Education Plans, Multi-Factored Evaluations, and Education Management Information System for expirations and schedule as necessary to remain in compliance with federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
• Schedule all necessary special education meetings to include coordinating the schedules of education personnel, case managers, contract services personnel, parents, parole officers, social workers, home school district personnel
• Complete required Individuals with Disabilities Act documentation regarding notification and attempts to contact all of the above parties including obtaining signatures from parents on all legal documents
• Maintain/update special education records and contact information in JJCMS as needed
• Maintain district special education database - Same Goal
• Designated personnel to scan all relevant educational documents into OnBase system
• Maintain a hard copy of student files
• Liaison between Buckeye United Schools and home school district with regard to requesting and/or sending special education documentation
• Participate in weekly student education records review process
• Serve as back up to school secretary [AP1] regarding clinic calls, copying, and clerical duties for Principal and Assistant Principal

Qualifications
18 mos. exp. or 18 mos. trg. in secretarial/Administrative Professional field.
-Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college.
-Or 6 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 1, 16871.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
