Required Skills
- Educational Background: Doctorate degree in Pharmacy; Texas License in Pharmacy. A Master's degree is highly desired.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Director/Regional Director or similar role in an Inpatient Pharmacy within a hospital setting.
- Leadership: Proven experience in pharmacy leadership within a large healthcare organization, ideally similar to a 1000+ licensed bed teaching hospital with a level I Trauma designation.
- Management Skills: Capability to lead multiple teams, including clinical specialists. Must have experience managing a sizable team with at least three Directors reporting directly.
Job Description
The Director of Pharmacy will play a pivotal role in supporting and leading pharmacy operations at a level 1 trauma and teaching hospital. This position involves overseeing pharmacy services across various departments including TMC Adult, Children's, Heart and Vascular, and Cancer Center Infusion Center, as well as various outpatient pharmacy services. The role demands a seasoned professional with related experience in an academic medical center.
Other Qualifications
- Nice-to-Haves: Experience with both inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, and dealing with adult and pediatric patient populations is a significant advantage.
- Residency: Completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency or demonstration of equivalent experience is preferred.
- Skills: Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility, and effectively manage change. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and quality improvement.
- Budgeting and Planning: Experience with strategic planning, quality improvement, cost savings initiatives, and budget management.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, physicians, and other stakeholders.

Pay: $215,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
