Hybrid Telework Opportunity
Under general direction, the Staff Services Manager I plans, organizes and directs the work of analysts and support staff for a fully developed administrative services function including human resources, procurement, contract management, accounting, budgets, and Management analysis. The incumbent leads the unit with a clear operational vision, inspired to identify solutions, solve problems and foster innovative thinking to achieve goals and objectives .
This position is subject to the Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests filing requirements, which requires disclosure of certain personal economic interests as determined by the Conflict of Interest Code of the Department of Health Care Access and Information. Pursuant to Government Code section 81008, Form 700 Statement of Economic Interests is public record and will be made available for public inspection.

Working Conditions
HCAI offers a hybrid telework schedule with a combination of remote and in-office work schedules for CA residents only. The telework policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required and/or minimal notification may be given to report to the worksite if an urgent need arises. If you are interested in maintaining a life/work balance and not dealing with a daily commute, then this position may be for you!

Special Requirements

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • 1 year or more of experience in health care related field or setting.
  • 1 year or more experience leading/managing analytical and clerical staff.
  • Experience with personnel duties including hiring/training new staff.
  • Experience engaging with or managing internal & external stakeholders.
  • Experience with human resources management (e.g., position control, personnel actions, recruitment and hiring, etc.).
  • Experience with executing procurements and contracts, and contract management.
  • Experience with invoicing and accounting practices & processes.
  • Experience managing or monitoring a program (or other large-scale) budget.
  • Experience establishing and/or following policies, procedures, and protocols.
