Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Director and according to established policies and procedures, performs secretarial/clerical work including, but not limited to, answering telephone calls, scheduling patients for appointments, registering patients when they present at the facility and registrar is not immediately available, collecting monies, issuing receipts for all collections, obtaining third-party billing information, faxing information to MD offices for signature, and managing plan of cares, recertifications and insurance authorizations. Performs a variety of medical record responsibilities including filing and assembling patient medical records and charts and scanning plan of care and recertifications that have been signed by the physician. Work is of a confidential nature. Performs other work of the Department as required.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma - required
Minimum Work Experience
Secretarial/clerical experience (preferably in a Rehab Office setting) including experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with proficient typing skills and knowledge of medical terminology required.
The employee must have the ability to understand, communicate and react effectively to the unique needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
BLS is required, or obtained during the first week of hire.
