Peoples Kid’s Pastor

Purpose
The Peoples Kid’s Pastor is responsible to the Executive Pastor of Ministries to oversee all aspects of ministry to children, birth through elementary school age, to foster spiritual growth, discipleship, and a love for Jesus Christ within our youngest members. This role requires strong leadership, creativity, and a heart for serving families in our community.
Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
· Provide dynamic and Christ-centered leadership to children's ministry programs, ensuring that all activities and teachings align with the mission and values of Peoples Church.
· Lead engaging and age-appropriate worship experiences, lessons, and activities that inspire children to grow in their faith and deepen their relationship with God.
· Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment where children feel loved, valued, and encouraged to explore their faith journey.
Curriculum Development
· Procure and develop curriculum for Sunday Services (including Junior Bible Quiz) and Wednesday Services (Royal Rangers and Girls Ministries).
Volunteer Recruitment and Training
· Recruit, train, and equip a team of dedicated volunteers to serve in various roles within the children's ministry.
· Provide ongoing support, encouragement, and mentorship to volunteers, empowering them to effectively minister to children and families.
· Foster a sense of teamwork and community among volunteers, celebrating their contributions and fostering a culture of excellence in ministry.
Program Development and Coordination
· Plan and coordinate various programs, events, and activities for children and their families, including Sunday school classes, Junior Bible Quiz, Royal Rangers, Girls Ministries, camps, and other Peoples Kid’s events.
· Collaborate with other ministry leaders to create opportunities for cross-generational interaction and spiritual growth within the church community.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments to meet the evolving needs of children and families.
Parent and Family Engagement
· Establish strong communication channels with parents, keeping them informed about upcoming events, curriculum topics, and opportunities for involvement.
· Provide resources, support, and encouragement to help parents nurture their children's spiritual development at home.
· Organize family-friendly events and activities that strengthen relationships and foster a sense of belonging within the church community.
Administration and Budget Management
· Manage the children's ministry budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources and alignment with the overall church budget.
· Maintain accurate records of attendance, volunteer schedules, program evaluations, and other administrative tasks.
· Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to child safety, ministry administration, and volunteer management.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Christian ministry, education, or a related field (preferred).
· Previous experience in children's ministry leadership or related roles.
· Strong understanding of child development, curriculum design, and age-appropriate teaching methods.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate effectively to children, parents, volunteers, and church leadership.
· Proven leadership abilities, including the capacity to recruit, train, and empower volunteers for ministry.
· Proficient in administrative tasks such as budget management, record keeping, and program evaluation.
· Committed to personal spiritual growth and alignment with the beliefs and values of Peoples Church.
· The Children's Pastor at Peoples Church will play a pivotal role in shaping the spiritual formation of children and families, creating a welcoming and nurturing environment where young disciples can thrive and grow in their faith journey.
