Position Highlights
The School of Natural, Health, Social and Behavioral Sciences is seeking applications for a pool of Adjunct Lecturers to teach in-person courses (lectures and/or labs) in our natural and health science courses. These are part-time non-tenure eligible positions for the Fall 2024 and/or Spring 2025 semesters. Hiring will depend on schedule availability and course enrollments. Additional adjunct and full-time positions for the natural and Health Sciences at Centenary University may be announced for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Courses to be filled:
- Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy
- Ecology
- Environmental Field Sampling
- Environmental Policy
- Environmental Science
- Marine Biology
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach approximately 1-2 classes per academic year in area of expertise (on campus)
- Maintain gradebook on Moodle
- Hold office hours for students
- Administer and grade assignments and exams
- Prepare lectures and other course materials
The University reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in a natural science (Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science) or related field
- Previous experience teaching at the collegiate level
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching biology, ecology, or environmental science courses at the collegiate-level (face-to-face)
- Learning Management System Experience (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, etc.)
- Experience with working with diverse student population
