Adjunct Instructors - Physical Education Activity
The Division of Health, Mathematics and Sciences is accepting applications for Adjunct Instructors in the following areas:
Physical Education Activity (including but not limited to: Karate/Self Defense, Yoga, Pilates, Aerobics, Weight Training, etc.)
We have a need for instructors to teach courses face-to-face for2023-2024 academic year. Face-to-face classes are offered both during the day (Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.) and in the evenings (starting either at 5:30 or 7 p.m.). Instructors who can teach during the day will receive priority in the application process. Instructors are contracted per course, with a minimum of 10 students. Typical class size is between 10 and 23 students.
Review of applications will begin prior to the start of each semester and continues until the positions are filled.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must:
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, possess certification as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, or group exercise instructor and possess a strong understanding of fitness principles, exercise physiology and wellness. Prior experience in teaching physical activity classes is preferred.
Interested individuals should exhibit excellent interpersonal and digital communication skills and be familiar with learning management systems (experience with Canvas is preferred).
