Job description

Adjunct Instructor, Programming for Play
The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is seeking a Part Time Adjunct Instructor for our Game Department to teach Programming for Play, a course that introduces art students to fundamental concepts of programming and digital prototyping for games. Students will learn to program through visual scripting in developing 3 micro-game projects exploring common mechanics. The curriculum will cover programming concepts, algorithms, programming rules and vocabulary, writing functions and classes, creating objects, motion and interactivity. The successful candidate for this position will have direct experience in Programming for gameplay, with strong classroom management and community building skills. Desired candidates with a background in art and technology will be considered for this role. They will have moderate experience programming with coding languages such as C# and Python or within several game engines and demonstrate capabilities using technology tools to facilitate and teach coding. This course is scheduled for in person sessions Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:30 - 6:15 PM (EST). The position will begin January 2024
