We are seeking an enthusiastic professional Math Instructor who is passionate about cultivating the school's mission and objectives through student instruction, guidance and review in order to ensure successful development of each student. Because of our commitment to community, employment preference is given to residents who live in WV and the New River Community Technical College service area.
This position is a Adjunct position for the Raleigh County Campus and will report directly to the the Dean of Pre-Professional Programs. The position will work collaboratively with management, faculty and staff within the department and college to serve the best interests of the students.

Adjunct faculty members serve multiple roles as teachers, mentors, colleagues, and scholars. Adjunct faculty are expected to excel in classroom instruction and to fulfill various responsibilities related to their assigned teaching duties.
Nature of Work
Adjunct faculty is responsible for teaching an area of expertise within a specific period.
Examples of Duties
Summary of Core Responsibilities:
  • Possess thorough and accurate knowledge in field/discipline.
  • Develop instructional materials; plan and organize instruction to enhance student learning; prepare the syllabi; and teach classes in a way that encourages student learning.
  • Meet classes as scheduled.
  • Be accessible to students through e-mail, phone, or scheduled office hours or at other times.
  • Evaluate student work and maintain accurate records of students' academic standing.
  • Provide students constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback in a timely manner.
  • Respect the confidentiality of student information; refrain from discussing or releasing such information except within recognized limits.
  • Demonstrate integrity and positive interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fulfill all expectations of Adjunct Faculty.
  • Should be able to teach via Zoom, IVN, online, or in class and use the WebAssign portal
  • Be able to teach one or more of the following courses: Math 101 Quantitative Reasoning, Math 104 Math for Trades, Math 107 Intro to Statistics, Math 109 College Algebra, Math 110 Trigonometry, Math 210 Statistics and the Enhanced parts if needed.
  • Should communicate and collaborate with other math faculty; use common assessment tracking questions for the final assessment and report the tracking results on time to the faculty in charge.
  • If possible, join the department meetings and participate in the college activities.
  • Provide the end of the semester evaluation for students

Skills:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical area of expertise.

Well versed in current teaching trends, techniques, resources, and technology for both onsite and virtual learning, as necessary.
