Description
Hofstra University's Department of Fine Arts, Design, Art History is seeking Adjunct Faculty to teach the following two courses in Art History in Spring of 2024:

• Why Art Matters (T,Th 9:40-11:05am). Through readings, writings, discussions, and fieldwork, gain an understanding of the ways in which art offers meaning and value to human society.
• Medieval Art (T,Th 2:40-4:05pm). Architecture, sculpture, and painting of Europe form c. 300 a.d. to 1400 CE, with emphasis on the contributions of earlier European and Islamic cultures.

Qualifications

• PhD or ABD in Art History.
• Some college teaching experience is required.
• Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusive in an educational environment.

Salary/Salary Range
$1,387-$1,750 per credit

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
